PARADISE LOST
Competition proposal for the 14th International Garden Festival, Canada

2012
DOS-Studio · Levente G. Molnár, Judit Pozsgay
The main concept of the project is based on the philosophy of “Paradise Lost” which shows in our created semi-transparent labyrinth with biblical apple tree in the middle of the centre of the garden.

The visitors can only see through the barrier of the garden, they cannot enter into “Paradise”. Non of the corridors lead to the centre part.

The small green parts of the garden prepare the visitors for the final goal and stylized big red apples are laying on the grass in all these gardens. The visitors can enter in the labyrinth in several points and all points lead out as well.

All the corridors are covered with crushed stone, which symbolize the race of modern cultures for a healthy and comfotable life for a 2nd paradise, but the real Paradise will just stay as a dream.

The whole garden was designed in a 1 meter x 1 meter raster in which we created wooden semi-transparent walls. These walls are approximately 1.8 meter high. The corridors width is 0.9 meter.
